ABOUT THE CHEF
Passionate about cooking from a young age, Chef Jara cut his teeth working under two of the most prestigious Spanish chefs, Martin Berasategui (3 Michelin Star) in the Basque Country and Santi Santamaria (3 Michelin Star) in Catalonia; where his love affair with northern Spanish cookery began.
His journey took him from the North of Spain to Restaurant Sabores in the south of the country where he took the role of Head Chef for a few years before his move to London.
Once here, after filling lead cheffing roles at The Intercontinental and Aqua Nueva of Soho, Jara finally joined the team of Eneko Atxa, the acclaimed 3-Michelin-starred chef, with whom Jara quickly worked his way up to Head Chef position of Atxa's London restaurant Eneko at One Aldwych, where Jara really honed his art, taking regular trips back to the Basque Country to work with Chef Atxa in developing dishes.
On the side, Chef Jara and his Pastry Chef wife founded Eonce, a premium, bean to bar chocolate brand, based out of East London.
Jara joins table&candle for a short series where he will be showcasing Northern Spanish cuisine across six diligently crafted plates.
